Freelance Audio-Visual Technician

Overview:

Baldwin Audio/Visual Solutions (BAVS) is looking for experienced audio-visual technicians for live and virtual events in the Ottawa and Kingston areas. BAVS currently runs a live events department alongside a state-of-the-art webcast and interpretation studio, enabling us to run virtual and hybrid events. We have many exciting roles that we are looking to fill on a short and long-term basis.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Install, operate, and dismantle live and virtual event setups
Operate audio, video, lighting, interpretation, and virtual event equipment (not all skillsets required)
Develop relationships with BAVS clients and provide exceptional on-site customer service
Collaborate clearly and efficiently with BAVS operations and on-site event staff
Safely operate BAVS delivery vehicles as required

Position Requirements & Skills Required:

Minimum 2-5 years experience working as an audio-visual technician
Organized, detail-oriented, and responsive
Ability to work independently and be part of a team
Open to learning new skillsets and adhering to BAVS event procedures
Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and an ability to communicate with a diverse range of individuals
Proficient with the Microsoft 365 Suite of products and common presentation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Prezi)
Applicant must have received, or be willing to receive, a COVID-19 vaccine to be considered for employment
G-Class driver’s license preferred

Compensation/Benefits:

Hourly pay of $25-$40/hr (minimum 4 hours calls)
Half and full-day rates for specialized skillsets (teleprompter, camera etc.)
Compensation for on-site parking fees
