Over the course of 2020, Baldwin has repurposed its resources to offer virtual event solutions so everything from large-scale events to small but important meetings could still happen regardless of in-person restrictions in place. As part of this pivot, we’ve also taken the lead on providing safe and professional facilities for sign language interpreters as they are an integral part of the event ecosystem. Our Simultaneous Interpretation & Virtual Event Studio is the result of hard work and choosing to keep the focus on the accessibility of events beyond just their digital reach.

Baldwin Audio/Visual Solutions provides on-site parking along with a private entrance to the studio for interpreters and relevant personnel. Safety is paramount in these times so sanitary wipes and hand sanitizer are found throughout the studio and at each station. There is also a private washroom and lounge with complimentary water, coffee, and tea, as well as access to a microwave and printer among other amenities. Our professional studio not only provides the necessary technology and setup (which people may not have at home) but it also adds production value. This space is a temporary setup with drapes and signs, it is a dedicated studio space with the required technology, safety setups, and conveniences for stellar virtual events in this aspect.

We’ve even gone the extra mile to offer different dedicated Wi-Fi networks (with simple guides and instructions on how to connect) in-studio so security, connectivity, and performance aren’t a concern. When it comes to the virtual event, we have flexibility in how we customize the layout for your needed language and accessibility options. We have invested in these on-site facilities, and believe them to be the highest caliber offering for simultaneous interpretation (SI) and other services, but we can also provide remote based SI, sign language, and closed captioning solutions. Baldwin’s comprehensive solutions allow for:

  1. Interpretation equipment that meets the current ISO standards
  2. Multiple languages including French, English, Spanish, and Indigenous languages
  3. Use of Radio Frequency (RF) or the more secure Infrared (IR) technology

The flexibility of our solutions allows us to provide, for example, an online presentation that includes the speaker with their slideshow or video presentation alongside live closed captioning and sign language — all at once and with a customized branded layout!
