The events industry has truly been transformed in the last few years and we’ve now gotten to the point where hybrid events that marry the best parts of in-person events with the best parts of virtual ones. So, now that we’re halfway through the year and summer is upon us, what are some of the hybrid event trends you can expect to see?

The data is in!

One of the most transformative factors virtual and hybrid events have had is their potential for data insight. From feedback surveys, attendance stats (number of people, time spent, etc.), and other areas where data can be leveraged, the ability to use data to better tend to audience needs as well as improve on future events has never been more prominent.

Smaller events vs. an annual one

Because of the flexibility and lowered cost involved, many annual events from just a few years back are now being spread across the year and broken into multiple smaller ones. Virtual hybrid event platforms and studios allow organizations to better accommodate different event audiences, topics, and needs throughout the year instead of having to put all their eggs into one event basket.

Events as future revenue streams

When events were hosted solely in person, they were treated as a source of revenue. That’s still the case in lots of contexts with hybrid events BUT there is now an added marketing value that creates many more possibilities due to scale. Instead of a certain number of people showing up to a convention centre and that being it, there’s now the in-person audience AND whoever you open up your event to digitally!

New industry event types

With all the experimentation and evolution in the events industry lately, there are some new event types that have gained in popularity. Given the rise in remote work, many companies are sourcing employees regardless of where they’re located. As a result, career fairs and recruitment events as well as things like trade expos are continuing to lean into the online options that bring them larger audiences. There’ll also be a rise in internal events for organizations that are remote-first for company culture purposes and team building.

Events and their strategies will continue to evolve and change which is why we’re here to help! Contact Baldwin Audio/Visual Solutions today to learn more about our event solutions.
